IDEA BANK
| 1. | Attitude Remember that your attitude influences everything in your practice. With each challenge, use your emotional intelligence. |
| 2. | Persistence It takes most Top of the Table members 10 years or longer in the business to reach Top of the Table. Never give up! |
| 3. | Confidence Nurture it, leverage it, and borrow it from others. Most importantly, protect it. With confidence, just about anything is possible. Without it, you fail. |
| 4. | Prospect Keep your prospecting antenna up and tuned in. The difference between an MDRT member and a Top of the Table member is the quantity and quality of their prospects. |
| 5. | Education and experience Make sure after 10 years of business, you haven’t repeated the same production each year. Build upon each experience. We need to be perpetual students to add value to our clients. |
| 6. | Physical health Take good care of your body. Without physical health it is extremely challenging to succeed in this business. |
| 7. | Goals Lifetime, yearly, monthly, weekly and especially daily goals will keep you focused and motivated. Put them in writing and share them with others. |
| 8. | Enthusiasm Act enthusiastic and you will be enthusiastic. Make it a special habit to do this, especially when you don't feel like it. |
| 9. | Smile It lifts your mood and the mood of others around you. |
| 10. | People You win with people. Your clients, colleagues, suppliers and fellow association members are all members of your team. Take good care of them and they will take good care of you! |
From MDRT e-Newsletter – 24 April 2009
I always enlighten my clients that money is merely a tool for human beings during their lifetime. But life insurance is a tool to ensure you give your best to your family even beyond your lifetime. It is a gift of love that grants your loved ones peace of mind, financial protection and dignity. The value of your love to them will remain throughout your policy even after you depart.

I work in work-site markets of small companies with 30-100 employees. My key to success is to meet them frequently enough so that they know who I am and what I do. I also hand-deliver newsletters featuring articles that may be of interest to 50% or more people working in the work site.
I feel it is extremely important that I build a reputation as a reliable and trustworthy person with the people around me, so that they will share their private and personal information with me. Once they know me well, and buy a policy or two from me, they would usually refer me to their friends or relatives with similar needs.

If you want to make an impression to your clients [men], list your top-ten clients, check their files and make a note in your diary of their wives’ birthdays. On the day before, send each of your top-ten clients a text message saying: “Tomorrow is your wife’s birthday. I thought you might want to be reminded”.
The truth is that half of them will have forgotten and will appreciate the reminder. They will also now never forget you. The other half will smile and appreciate it nevertheless. All of them will think better of you. They will feel confident that you are paying attention to them in the small details, as well as the big stuff.
